The off-grid cabin in Rock Hollow at The Appleton Retreat. Enjoy total privacy and silence, except for natures calls, amongst glorious trees and boulders, bordering a resource protected area and stream to the south; and a wooded trail to a secluded pond to the north. If you are afraid of total silence this may not be the place for you.
If you desire to have a time out and experience being one amongst the trees and embrace nature’s way, SMITTEN is the perfect place, with all the amenities to Get Away. (In seriously “inclement weather” it may be necessary to transport guests to SMITTEN via 4-wheel utility vehicle or snowmobile…… the driveway is over 1/2 mile long).
Guests may reserve the private wood fired cedar hot tub and sauna located on the property. (Please book upon arrival.)
The Appleton Retreat is less than a 30 minute drive to Belfast, Rockport, Camden and Rockland, charming downeast seaside towns.

To create a great experience for our guests, retreat amenities include: a deck/porch; fire pit; gas fireplace; access to the sauna and wood fired cedar hot tub; luxurious linens ensuring a good night’s sleep; bathroom with shower, and a fully equipped kitchen/galley. (Braeburn, Silver Moon, Summer Rose and Snow Sweet also include a hydrotherapeutic hot tub. Smitten has a clawfoot double slipper, small cast iron bathtub.)
